Defeater Signs to Epitaph, Announces Marquis Tour Date and New Album
Boston-based melodic hardcore band Defeater has signed to Epitaph with plans to release a new album in 2015. After a full year of being off the road, Defeater has announced dates for their first U.S. headlining tour this spring. Defeater plays Marquis Theater April 22.
Front man Derek Archambault performed shows for two years with a cane, but now, fully recovered from a 2014 hip replacement surgery, he is ready to perform again.
“After a year away from touring and nearly two of immobility, I have never been happier to push forward with Defeater,” said Archambault. “Releasing a new album with a label I have bought records from for more than 20 years still doesn't feel real. Like many of my peers, Epitaph's 90's roster was a big part of the soundtrack to my teenage ears. Signing to Epitaph and a full U.S. tour this spring has the makings of a banner year for Defeater.”
Defeater has released three studio albums on Bridge 9 Records, Travels (2008), Lost Ground (2009), Empty Days & Sleepless Nights (2011), and Letters Home (2013). All of the band's recordings tell the story of a working class family living in New Jersey during the Post-?World War II era.
Defeater will release their fourth concept album in 2015 on Epitaph.
“We want to thank everyone for the unbelievable continued support of us this past year and we hope we get a chance to thank you personally in 2015. Let’s do this,” said guitarist Jay Maas.

Single Mothers Live at Marquis Next Week!
SINGLE MOTHERS EXTEND TOUR
Single Mothers is adding to their marathon run of previously announced tour dates this fall. They will head down to Florida and then on over to the West Coast with many stops in between. These guys are road warriors and they're not shy about it.
They will also be in New York for shows this weekend at Brooklyn Night Bazaar (Friday), Cake Shop (Saturday) and one more on 8/31 which will be announced at the end of the week.
We recently announced the details of Negative Qualities, their debut full-length album. The album will be released by HXC Recordings (World) and Dine Alone Records (Canada) on October 7th.
Listen to "Marbles" here.
Single Mothers shouldn't exist and neither should their debut album, Negative Qualities. Led by mercurial troubadour Drew Thomson, the band was shakily hatched in London, Ontario where it ran through a dozen members before finally recording its debut album last year. At 10 songs, Negative Qualities serves as the perfect introduction to one of Canada’s most ferocious young bands - an explosive mix of raw energy, high-end punk and intellectual rendering of small town frustration.
Here’s what some folks have already said about them…
“Imagine the Hold Steady as a hardcore punk band...underpinned by a deeper, darker nihilistic edge." - The Guardian
"Single Mothers might be that band, fusing Americana staples like Bruce Springsteen with wild and raucous punk rock…" - Brooklyn Vegan
"Ferocious and untamed, few bands give any more of themselves onstage." - Clash
“Thomson's almost entirely quotable..." - Pitchfork
"It's honest and it's worth coming back to over and over." - Fader
“The hype surrounding the band has been consistently building and it seems as though their stalwart work ethic is finally paying off." - Exclaim
"Single Mothers has a fervent energy that harks back to a time when punk was truly for degenerates and damaged weirdos." - Punknews
"Effortlessly ferocious" - NME
"Single Mothers pack more edge than a diamond cutter." - Kerrang

Authority Zero release new video for "Lift One Up"
Mesa, Arizona’s influential punk veterans Authority Zero have just released their new video for "Lift One Up" off their current release "The Tipping Point" Out Now on Hardline Entertainment http://hardlineent.com/store.
Catch the band on their upcoming RISE TO THE FALL US TOUR in Denver and Colorado Springs! Tickets available at Ticketweb.com
Watch The Video Here! http://youtu.be/IdGKnj7j8EQ
It's finally here! Back in early 2014 we put out the concert of doing a "Shakeface" video for our latest single Lift One Up off The Tipping Point. The song embraces the concept of celebration of life, friendships, and the music that brings us all together in celebration of just that. The concept was meant to involve people from all around the world and so we asked everyone to send us in their "Shakeface" videos. The driving force behind it was to make our fans and friends the biggest part of the video and what it represented. Good times, good friends, and letting loose. Unfortunately many of the videos we received we unusable due to quality or misunderstanding, so rather than exclude anyone for that purpose, we've chosen to do two versions of the video. Here is the video we shot on location in Tempe, Arizona with the full on show combined with all our local friends and family doing the "Shakeface" and getting rad at the show that day. Jason broke a rib that day during performance (which we decided to leave in for fun), people were damn near passing out, and everyone had a killer time. A huge thank you from all of us to you for attending and making it possible! Shortly after the release of this video we will be also releasing a full on "Shakeface" video with every single video (regardless of quality or filming) in it! So here it is! After months of editing, re-editing, and conceptual changes, we present you with our Official Video Premier For "Lift One Up"!
Enjoy, Jason Devore

This Legend Announce West Coastin Tour
LOS ANGELES ll August 21, 2014 - In early June, FUSE exclusively announced the debut of This Legend
consisting of former Yellowcard members Longineu Parsons III and Ben Harper, Chris Castillo (Stanley and the
Search), and Steven Neufeld (Hey Mike!). The band also signed to Cyber Tracks, an LA based record label owned by
El Hefe (guitarist of NOFX) and wife Jen Abeyta.
Today, This Legend is happy to announce their first headlining tour this September, the West Coastin Tour, kicking
off at Loaded in Los Angeles on September 18th. The band is ecstatic to give fans a sneak peek into their debut
album set for release late this fall. Just last month the band finished recording at the Panda Studios with heavy-hitting
producer, Sam Pura (The Story So Far, State Champs, Basement).
WEST COASTIN TOUR DATES:
Thurs. Sept 18 - Loaded, Los Angeles, CA
Fri. Sept 19 - Soda Bar, San Diego, CA
Mon. Sept 22 - Marquis Theatre, Denver, CO
Tues. Sept 23 - The Railyard, Billings, MT *(Official Dropkick Murphy's Afterparty)

Sat. Sept 27 - Alhambra, Portland, OR
THIS LEGEND BIO:
It's no surprise that creating a band takes a lot of work, but coming out of previously successful bands and having to
start from scratch takes honest passion. For the first time in over ten years, best friends Longineu Parsons III "LP"
and Ben Harper, both formerly of Yellowcard, re-united in May, 2014. They have enlisted Chris Castillo of 'Stanley
and the Search' and Steven Neufeld of 'HeyMike!' to form This Legend.
With a world renowned trumpet player as a dad, it was inevitable that LP would become an unstoppable musician.
Starting at the tender age of two, LP quickly picked up the drums with the help of professional drum instructors Max
Roach and Art Blakey. Fast forward several years, LP would meet soon-to-be best friend and guitarist Ben Harper at
Douglas Anderson School of The Arts. The two formed what would become the well known pop-punk band
Yellowcard and toured the world together for many years. Harper would later leave Yellowcard to continue his
musical endeavors with his self-founded label, Takeover Records. One of his first signings would be HeyMike!, a
punk band from Camarillo, CA. The band saw moderate success throughout the mid-2000's with the help of Harper's
guidance. Harper and Neufeld, the band's singer/guitarist, became close friends during their time working together.
Also spawning from the local scene, Castillo (having previously played in several San Gabriel Valley bands including
'Stanley and the Search') caught the attention of NOFX guitarist El Hefe and wife Jen Abeyta, as a significantly
After LP's departure from Yellowcard in March of 2014, he partnered with Harper to collaborate again. Unsure of what
was to come musically, the duo wanted to lean on El Hefe for advice. El Hefe suggested they begin writing with
Castillo, a musician he and Abeyta had taken under their wing for some time. After solidifying a singer, guitarist and
drummer, a bassist and backing vocalist was needed. The group enlisted long time friend Neufeld to fill the slot. 2014
would prove to be the perfect year of break-ups and make-ups. In May of 2014, the band would sign to Cyber Tracks,
an LA based record label owned by El Hefe (guitarist of NOFX) and Abeyta. Upon selecting the band name This
Legend, LP stated, "It's a positive statement to say, 'no matter who you are and no matter how many times you get
put down in the world, you can look at yourself in the mirror and see a legend.'"

Riot Fest & Sideshow Officially Name Sports Authority Field at Mile High as 2014 Location!
Denver's Riot Fest & Sideshow to be Staged at
Sports Authority Field at Mile High and Byers is Coming Along
Byers, Colorado and May Farms to be recreated onsite
Riot Fest Officially Files Formal Appeal With Arapahoe County
For immediate release – July 18, 2014
Riot Fest is happy to announce that after visiting many great venues over the course of the past week that Sports Authority Field at Mile High will be the official home for Riot Fest & Sideshow, Sept, 19-21, 2014 in Denver, Colorado.
Although dozens of venues were interested in hosting the event, organizers chose the stadium for several factors, one of which being that stadium management have allowed Riot Fest to recreate Byers, Colorado and May Farms on the new fest grounds. Riot Fest made many friends in the Byers community, and it truly saddens organizers to be forced to move the fest away from its inaugural home – but if the farm is unavailable, they’ll bring the farm to Denver. Moreover, as previously promised, free parking will be made available to the festival's patrons, and Mile High's location will allow for public transportation options through the RTD. All tickets will be honored at the new location and refunds for those who purchased camping spots will be processed starting today.
Outside of bringing the May Farms aesthetic to the new site, organizers will also go ahead with the previously planned carnival rides and games, a miniature golf course, lucha libre, a large circus tent with oddities performers and a long list of amazing food vendors. Other plans include turfing the parking lot of the stadium and bringing all the things people love about May Farms (tractors, hay bales, etc) together with all the things to love about a country fair (rides, a pie eating contest, apple bobbing and more). Even the stages and vendor rows have been renamed to indicate Riot Fest’s support of Byers, Colorado.
To thank the Byers residents, Riot Fest organizers have also confirmed the following:
- Any Byers resident who wants to come to Riot Fest this year will receive complimentary tickets as well as free daily shuttle service to and from May Farms and Sports Authority Field. Details will be announced next week on how residents can sign-up for this.
- Riot Fest will also allow several Byers businesses and other I-70 Corridor businesses who supported them free vending space at no cost.
- Riot Fest has also announced a $5,000 scholarship to be awarded to one graduating senior who plans on majoring in music, arts, business or marketing. Riot Fest has now asked other partners, industry friends and other Colorado businesses to contribute in hopes of getting that scholarship up to $20,000.
Hundreds of residents of Byers wrote letters and showed support for Riot Fest in the past weeks and organizers would sincerely like to thank them for their support. Although Riot Fest has now officially chosen Sports Authority Field at Mile High as their 2014 home and will not move, producers will formerly file an appeal this morning against the Arapahoe County’s decision regarding their 2014 temporary use permits.
One, two, and three-day passes for Denver's festival are still available and on sale now at ticketfly.com or visit riotfest.org for more information

Macy Gray Live in Denver!
MACY GRAY TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM 'THE WAY' ON OCTOBER 7TH 2014
ANNOUNCES SHOW IN DENVER ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 23RD
Internationally acclaimed artist Macy Gray today announced the official release date for her new studio album 'The Way' as well as new North American tour dates for the fall. 'The Way' will be available on all digital platforms and in all good record stores from October 7th, 2014.
Macy Gray -- a multi-award winning, multi-platinum selling singer, songwriter, actress and mother of three teenagers -- has been overturning fan expectation and industry formula since the beginning of her musical career in 2000 with her critically acclaimed debut album ‘On How Life Is’.
Now, with the release of her forthcoming studio album titled 'The Way', out on October 7th, the truly gifted songwriter and brilliantly unique vocalist offers us a taste of what's to come with the new teaser track "Stoned" taken from this highly anticipated full-length.
“I wanted to create a record that reflects who I’ve become as a woman, mother and artist,” says Macy Gray. “This album is very personal to me. I want my fans to understand the place where I’m at in life and feel inspired by my music because it’s relatable.”
With a colorful career that includes multiple Grammy, Billboard, MTV and BRIT Awards, and record sales of over 25 million worldwide, the integrity and innovation of Macy Gray’s artistry has allowed her to forge her own path to success and win fans and critics from all around the world. Her music transcends genres, from experimental soul and alternative rock, to retro-disco and hip-hop.
However, what the accolades, awards and impressive sales figures from over the years have failed to illustrate is the depth and breadth of Macy’s artistry and vision. Her unparalleled rise to international fame and journey over the past 14 years has been an interesting one, and her latest album ‘The Way’ reflects the woman and artist that Macy Gray has become today.
As a single mother of three and an established career woman in both music and film, Gray is now ready to share her journey with the world. ‘The Way’ features uplifting tracks laced with Gray’s signature sound, as she covers powerful topics such as female independence, triumph over adversity, self-love and expression.
‘The Way’ (Macy’s eighth studio album), was written and recorded during her highly successful 14th anniversary tour for On How Life Is and is set for release on October 7th, 2014 (KOBALT Music Group).
