Defeater Signs to Epitaph, Announces Marquis Tour Date and New Album

Boston-based melodic hardcore band Defeater has signed to Epitaph with plans to release a new album in 2015. After a full year of being off the road, Defeater has announced dates for their first U.S. headlining tour this spring.  Defeater plays Marquis Theater April 22.

Front man Derek Archambault performed shows for two years with a cane, but now, fully recovered from a 2014 hip replacement surgery, he is ready to perform again.
“After a year away from touring and nearly two of immobility, I have never been happier to push forward with Defeater,” said Archambault. “Releasing a new album with a label I have bought records from for more than 20 years still doesn't feel real. Like many of my peers, Epitaph's 90's roster was a big part of the soundtrack to my teenage ears. Signing to Epitaph and a full U.S. tour this spring has the makings of a banner year for Defeater.”

Defeater has released three studio albums on Bridge 9 Records, Travels (2008), Lost Ground (2009), Empty Days & Sleepless Nights (2011), and Letters Home (2013). All of the band's recordings tell the story of a working class family living in New Jersey during the Post-?World War II era.
Defeater will release their fourth concept album in 2015 on Epitaph.

“We want to thank everyone for the unbelievable continued support of us this past year and we hope we get a chance to thank you personally in 2015. Let’s do this,” said guitarist Jay Maas. posted: January 21, 2015

Single Mothers Live at Marquis Next Week!

Single Mothers is adding to their marathon run of previously announced tour dates this fall. They will head down to Florida and then on over to the West Coast with many stops in between. These guys are road warriors and they're not shy about it.
They will also be in New York for shows this weekend at Brooklyn Night Bazaar (Friday), Cake Shop (Saturday) and one more on 8/31 which will be announced at the end of the week.
We recently announced the details of Negative Qualities, their debut full-length album. The album will be released by HXC Recordings (World) and Dine Alone Records (Canada) on October 7th.
Listen to "Marbles" here.
Single Mothers shouldn't exist and neither should their debut album, Negative Qualities. Led by mercurial troubadour Drew Thomson, the band was shakily hatched in London, Ontario where it ran through a dozen members before finally recording its debut album last year. At 10 songs, Negative Qualities serves as the perfect introduction to one of Canada’s most ferocious young bands - an explosive mix of raw energy, high-end punk and intellectual rendering of small town frustration.
Here’s what some folks have already said about them…
“Imagine the Hold Steady as a hardcore punk band...underpinned by a deeper, darker nihilistic edge." - The Guardian
"Single Mothers might be that band, fusing Americana staples like Bruce Springsteen with wild and raucous punk rock…" - Brooklyn Vegan
"Ferocious and untamed, few bands give any more of themselves onstage." - Clash
“Thomson's almost entirely quotable..." - Pitchfork
"It's honest and it's worth coming back to over and over." - Fader
“The hype surrounding the band has been consistently building and it seems as though their stalwart work ethic is finally paying off." - Exclaim
"Single Mothers has a fervent energy that harks back to a time when punk was truly for degenerates and damaged weirdos." - Punknews
"Effortlessly ferocious" - NME
"Single Mothers pack more edge than a diamond cutter." - Kerrang

Authority Zero release new video for "Lift One Up"

Mesa, Arizona’s influential punk veterans Authority Zero have just released their new video for "Lift One Up" off their current release "The Tipping Point" Out Now on Hardline Entertainment

Catch the band on their upcoming RISE TO THE FALL US TOUR in Denver and Colorado Springs! Tickets available at

Watch The Video Here!
It's finally here! Back in early 2014 we put out the concert of doing a "Shakeface" video for our latest single Lift One Up off The Tipping Point. The song embraces the concept of celebration of life, friendships, and the music that brings us all together in celebration of just that. The concept was meant to involve people from all around the world and so we asked everyone to send us in their "Shakeface" videos. The driving force behind it was to make our fans and friends the biggest part of the video and what it represented. Good times, good friends, and letting loose. Unfortunately many of the videos we received we unusable due to quality or misunderstanding, so rather than exclude anyone for that purpose, we've chosen to do two versions of the video. Here is the video we shot on location in Tempe, Arizona with the full on show combined with all our local friends and family doing the "Shakeface" and getting rad at the show that day. Jason broke a rib that day during performance (which we decided to leave in for fun), people were damn near passing out, and everyone had a killer time. A huge thank you from all of us to you for attending and making it possible! Shortly after the release of this video we will be also releasing a full on "Shakeface" video with every single video (regardless of quality or filming) in it! So here it is! After months of editing, re-editing, and conceptual changes, we present you with our Official Video Premier For "Lift One Up"!
Enjoy, Jason Devore

This Legend Announce West Coastin Tour

LOS ANGELES ll August 21, 2014 - In early June, FUSE exclusively announced the debut of This Legend
consisting of former Yellowcard members Longineu Parsons III and Ben Harper, Chris Castillo (Stanley and the
Search), and Steven Neufeld (Hey Mike!). The band also signed to Cyber Tracks, an LA based record label owned by
El Hefe (guitarist of NOFX) and wife Jen Abeyta.

Today, This Legend is happy to announce their first headlining tour this September, the West Coastin Tour, kicking
off at Loaded in Los Angeles on September 18th. The band is ecstatic to give fans a sneak peek into their debut
album set for release late this fall. Just last month the band finished recording at the Panda Studios with heavy-hitting
producer, Sam Pura (The Story So Far, State Champs, Basement).

Thurs. Sept 18 - Loaded, Los Angeles, CA
Fri. Sept 19 - Soda Bar, San Diego, CA
Mon. Sept 22 - Marquis Theatre, Denver, CO
Tues. Sept 23 - The Railyard, Billings, MT *(Official Dropkick Murphy's Afterparty)
Wed. Sept 24 - The Palace, Missoula, MT
Fri. Sept 26 - El Corazon Lounge, Seattle, WA
Sat. Sept 27 - Alhambra, Portland, OR

It's no surprise that creating a band takes a lot of work, but coming out of previously successful bands and having to
start from scratch takes honest passion. For the first time in over ten years, best friends Longineu Parsons III "LP"
and Ben Harper, both formerly of Yellowcard, re-united in May, 2014. They have enlisted Chris Castillo of 'Stanley
and the Search' and Steven Neufeld of 'HeyMike!' to form This Legend.

With a world renowned trumpet player as a dad, it was inevitable that LP would become an unstoppable musician.
Starting at the tender age of two, LP quickly picked up the drums with the help of professional drum instructors Max
Roach and Art Blakey. Fast forward several years, LP would meet soon-to-be best friend and guitarist Ben Harper at
Douglas Anderson School of The Arts. The two formed what would become the well known pop-punk band
Yellowcard and toured the world together for many years. Harper would later leave Yellowcard to continue his
musical endeavors with his self-founded label, Takeover Records. One of his first signings would be HeyMike!, a
punk band from Camarillo, CA. The band saw moderate success throughout the mid-2000's with the help of Harper's
guidance. Harper and Neufeld, the band's singer/guitarist, became close friends during their time working together.
Also spawning from the local scene, Castillo (having previously played in several San Gabriel Valley bands including
'Stanley and the Search') caught the attention of NOFX guitarist El Hefe and wife Jen Abeyta, as a significantly
talented singer/songwriter.

After LP's departure from Yellowcard in March of 2014, he partnered with Harper to collaborate again. Unsure of what
was to come musically, the duo wanted to lean on El Hefe for advice. El Hefe suggested they begin writing with
Castillo, a musician he and Abeyta had taken under their wing for some time. After solidifying a singer, guitarist and
drummer, a bassist and backing vocalist was needed. The group enlisted long time friend Neufeld to fill the slot. 2014
would prove to be the perfect year of break-ups and make-ups. In May of 2014, the band would sign to Cyber Tracks,
an LA based record label owned by El Hefe (guitarist of NOFX) and Abeyta. Upon selecting the band name This
Legend, LP stated, "It's a positive statement to say, 'no matter who you are and no matter how many times you get
put down in the world, you can look at yourself in the mirror and see a legend.'"

Cyber Tracks is a Los Angeles based record label founded by El Hefe (guitarist of NOFX) and wife Jen Abeyta.
Cyber Tracks has the mentality "for artists, by artists" which promises to empower bands by allowing them to share
control, revenue, master ownership, and decision making equally. Cyber Track's roster currently consists of Margate,
Implants (featuring members of Strung Out, Ten Foot Pole, Pulley, and Death By Stereo), Warner Drive,
Counterpunch, and most recently, This Legend. For more information:

Riot Fest & Sideshow Officially Name Sports Authority Field at Mile High as 2014 Location!

Denver's Riot Fest & Sideshow to be Staged at
Sports Authority Field at Mile High and Byers is Coming Along

Byers, Colorado and May Farms to be recreated onsite
Riot Fest Officially Files Formal Appeal With Arapahoe County
For immediate release – July 18, 2014
Riot Fest is happy to announce that after visiting many great venues over the course of the past week that Sports Authority Field at Mile High will be the official home for Riot Fest & Sideshow, Sept, 19-21, 2014 in Denver, Colorado.
Although dozens of venues were interested in hosting the event, organizers chose the stadium for several factors, one of which being that stadium management have allowed Riot Fest to recreate Byers, Colorado and May Farms on the new fest grounds.  Riot Fest made many friends in the Byers community, and it truly saddens organizers to be forced to move the fest away from its inaugural home – but if the farm is unavailable, they’ll bring the farm to Denver. Moreover, as previously promised, free parking will be made available to the festival's patrons, and Mile High's location will allow for public transportation options through the RTD.  All tickets will be honored at the new location and refunds for those who purchased camping spots will be processed starting today.
Outside of bringing the May Farms aesthetic to the new site, organizers will also go ahead with the previously planned carnival rides and games, a miniature golf course, lucha libre, a large circus tent with oddities performers and a long list of amazing food vendors.  Other plans include turfing the parking lot of the stadium and bringing all the things people love about May Farms (tractors, hay bales, etc) together with all the things to love about a country fair (rides, a pie eating contest, apple bobbing and more).  Even the stages and vendor rows have been renamed to indicate Riot Fest’s support of Byers, Colorado.
To thank the Byers residents, Riot Fest organizers have also confirmed the following:
  • Any Byers resident who wants to come to Riot Fest this year will receive complimentary tickets as well as free daily shuttle service to and from May Farms and Sports Authority Field.  Details will be announced next week on how residents can sign-up for this.
  • Riot Fest will also allow several Byers businesses and other I-70 Corridor businesses who supported them free vending space at no cost.
  • Riot Fest has also announced a $5,000 scholarship to be awarded to one graduating senior who plans on majoring in music, arts, business or marketing.  Riot Fest has now asked other partners, industry friends and other Colorado businesses to contribute in hopes of getting that scholarship up to $20,000.
Hundreds of residents of Byers wrote letters and showed support for Riot Fest in the past weeks and organizers would sincerely like to thank them for their support.  Although Riot Fest has now officially chosen Sports Authority Field at Mile High as their 2014 home and will not move, producers will formerly file an appeal this morning against the Arapahoe County’s decision regarding their 2014 temporary use permits.
One, two, and three-day passes for Denver's festival are still available and on sale now at or visit for more information

Macy Gray Live in Denver!

Internationally acclaimed artist Macy Gray today announced the official release date for her new studio album 'The Way' as well as new North American tour dates for the fall. 'The Way' will be available on all digital platforms and in all good record stores from October 7th, 2014.
Macy Gray -- a multi-award winning, multi-platinum selling singer, songwriter, actress and mother of three teenagers -- has been overturning fan expectation and industry formula since the beginning of her musical career in 2000 with her critically acclaimed debut album ‘On How Life Is’.
Now, with the release of her forthcoming studio album titled 'The Way', out on October 7th, the truly gifted songwriter and brilliantly unique vocalist offers us a taste of what's to come with the new teaser track "Stoned" taken from this highly anticipated full-length.
“I wanted to create a record that reflects who I’ve become as a woman, mother and artist,” says Macy Gray. “This album is very personal to me. I want my fans to understand the place where I’m at in life and feel inspired by my music because it’s relatable.”
With a colorful career that includes multiple Grammy, Billboard, MTV and BRIT Awards, and record sales of over 25 million worldwide, the integrity and innovation of Macy Gray’s artistry has allowed her to forge her own path to success and win fans and critics from all around the world. Her music transcends genres, from experimental soul and alternative rock, to retro-disco and hip-hop.
However, what the accolades, awards and impressive sales figures from over the years have failed to illustrate is the depth and breadth of Macy’s artistry and vision. Her unparalleled rise to international fame and journey over the past 14 years has been an interesting one, and her latest album ‘The Way’ reflects the woman and artist that Macy Gray has become today.
As a single mother of three and an established career woman in both music and film, Gray is now ready to share her journey with the world.  ‘The Way’ features uplifting tracks laced with Gray’s signature sound, as she covers powerful topics such as female independence, triumph over adversity, self-love and expression.
‘The Way’ (Macy’s eighth studio album), was written and recorded during her highly successful 14th anniversary tour for On How Life Is and is set for release on October 7th, 2014 (KOBALT Music Group).

Riot Fest & Sideshow Full Album Surprises!

Riot Fest Unveils “10 Years. 10 Essential Albums.”
For Chicago & Denver
Ten Bands To Play Their Seminal Albums at Riot Fests

On the heels of announcing Riot Fest in three cities within the past week (Toronto, Chicago and Denver), organizers have released the first big surprise in celebration of Riot Fest’s 10th Anniversary, entitled “10 Years. 10 Essential Albums.”
“During last year’s Violent Femmes’ set at Riot, where they performed Violent Femmes unannounced in its entirety, it dawned on me that if we ever did an album play thing at Riot, we should make it something that the fans would remember years from now,” said Michael Petryshyn, Riot Fest partner. “So, I literally was walking back to my trailer after their set and it hit me… ‘10 Years. 10 Essential Albums.’… and yeah, it grew from there.”
To help celebrate Riot Fest’s 10th Anniversary, ten bands have joined in to play their seminal albums either at Riot Fest in Chicago or in both Denver and Chicago. Nine of the bands have been released today:
Jane’s Addiction: Nothing’s Shocking (Chicago)
The Offspring: Smash (Chicago)
Weezer: “The Blue Album” (Chicago & Denver)
Slayer: Reign in Blood (Chicago & Denver)
Samhain: Initium (Chicago)
NOFX: Punk In Drublic (Chicago & Denver)
Descendents: Milo Goes To College (Chicago)
Naked Raygun: Throb Throb (Chicago)
The Get Up Kids: Something To Write Home About (Chicago)
There is one more album organizers are holding close to their chests, but have promised to unveil it in a separate announcement in the upcoming weeks, as well as additional 10th Anniversary surprises.
“We have one more band playing an album that we’re immensely excited about… but it wouldn’t be Riot if we didn’t tease a little beforehand,” chuckles Petryshyn. “No matter what though, this is really about thanking our fans. The work put into the lineups this year and things like the essential albums plays is for them… as clichéd as it may sound, it’s the truth. We’d be nowhere without them and maybe the way we thank them is by giving them a fest where we can all sing along."
Riot Fest is celebrating its 10th Anniversary this year, and to celebrate organizers have assembled three festivals in North America this September: Toronto's Riot Fest & Expo (9/6-9/7) at Downsview ParkChicago's Riot Fest & Carnival (9/12-9/14) in Humboldt Park, and Denver's Riot Fest & Sideshow (9/19-9/21) at May Farms.

Tickets for Riot Fest & Sideshow Denver are available here. More band announcements are forthcoming as well as a few more 10th Anniversary surprises. posted: May 16, 2014

Spirit, Soul, & Song Tour Cancelled

Unfortunately, both Spirit, Soul, & Song Tour shows on 6/3 & 6/5 in Denver and Colorado Springs have been cancelled. Please return to point of purchase for refunds.

A Message From Cas Haley:

It is with great sadness that Cas Haley has had to drop out of the first ever Spirit, Soul & Songs Tour, which was to feature acoustic sets by him, Kimie, Mike Love and Tubby Love. After suffering some recent issues with his voice, Cas saw a specialist in the last week and has been ordered on to vocal rest and ongoing voice therapy to recover. He has had to cancel his appearances on this tour, along with sets at Reggae In The Hills and California Roots Festival. The good news is that Cas expects to make a full recovery after a couple months of rest and hard work.  As a consequence our show will have to be cancelled.   Each artist hopes to set up rescheduled shows in those markets soon. Cas himself says, “I am so sorry to be disappointing fans expecting to see me, but I’ll be back on the road as soon as I can. In the meantime, I urge all of my fans to go out and support Kimie, Mike Love and Tubby Love, amazing musicians I am proud to call my friends!”

"Hard to believe it's been 10 years,” reflects Michael Petryshyn, founder of the festival. “Really doesn't seem it's been all that long. But, my partner Sean (McKeough) and I are so very lucky that the fans believe in what we do...And I'm just as thankful that a good chunk of our friends from over the years are coming back to play and blow out a few birthday candles alongside us. Between both, that's what makes this year special."
With help of local indie promoter Soda Jerk Presents, Riot Fest arrives in Denver for the 2nd year, where fans will gather at May Farms in Byers, Colorado for three days of music, rides and other attractions in view of the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. The Denver festival also offers the option to camp and spend the weekend enjoying the great outdoors. OFF! Announce Tour, Share

In addition to leading the Black Flag reunion project FLAG, Keith Morris currently fronts OFF!, the hardcore supergroup featuring Dimitri Coats (Burning Brides), Mario Rubalcaba (Hot Snakes/Rocket From the Crypt/Earthless), and Steven McDonald (Redd Kross). They have a new LP, Wasted Years, out April 8 through Vice. It's the followup to 2012's self-titled.

Check out the video for album cut "Void You Out" below via Noisey, filmed this month in Southern California. It also finds Morris cooking bacon and eggs. "The reason I'm in the band is because I don't know any better," he says. According to a press release, the video is a tribute to the classic punk documentary Decline of Western Civilization.

A Great Big World new album, tour

(New York, New York) – Rising singer-songwriter pop duo A Great Big World have been personally tapped by pop superstar Christina Aguilera to perform their palpably powerful and poetic single "Say Something" live on NBC's "The Voice" Tuesday, November 5. Upon first listen, Aguilera felt the song’s impact and immediately forged a bond with its message in addition to the outpouring from countless fans across the country.
The songstress became so emotionally connected to the track that she asked to join the duo of Ian Axel and Chad Vaccarino in the studio to re-record the song, lending her legendary voice to a new take, adding a new dimension and elevating it to new heights. The results are stirring, soulful, and stunning. The song will be available for purchase at all digital retailers on November 4th.
About the track, Aguilera enthusiastically comments, "I'm only taking on projects that feel good to me and represent a purpose of the 'here and now' in my life, and that's what this song 'Say Something' actually does for me."
Aguilera isn't the only one singing the group's praises. "Say Something" has encouraged an outpouring of emotion online, generating a genuine catharsis. So often the internet can become a hotbed for negativity, A Great Big World have turned it into a place of solace and inspiration. Listeners have taken to YouTube to comment confessing things like, “This song says what I couldn’t say,”"This song is amazing," “I’ve had this song on repeat for days now,” “I know what this feels like,” and "Although it is sad, this song is about moving on and moving forward, so smile.” Link to YouTube:
Ian and Chad are humbled by the song’s response, "It is a healing and hopeful song and we simply cannot believe how many people this song has resonated with. It's one of the greatest honors in the world to know that your art is making a positive impact. Even more so, it's an incredible privilege to have the support of Christina. Collaborating with her is something we'll both remember forever."
The group’s debut full length for Black Magnetic/Epic Records “Is There Anybody Out There?” will be available for digital and physical pre-order November 4th and it includes instant downloads of "Say Something," "Say Something" featuring Christina Aguilera, and their hit "This Is the New Year".
Critics also continue to extol this twosome. Billboard writes, "A Great Big World package the understated tones of Adele's ballads with dreamlike lyricism of Ingrid Michaelson on tear-jerking single 'Say Something'," while Perez Hilton calls them, "quirky and sweet". ARTISTdirect adds, "It's an artfully crafted collection of some of the most poignant, powerful and passionate songs you'll hear all year. It's also the start of something Great…" and pop singer Christina Perri tweeted about "Say Something", "I am breathless. This is everything."
She's not the only one who has fallen under their spell. Making its television debut on Fox's So You Think You Can Dance during a poignant and passionate performance by show victor Amy Yakima, choreographed by Stacey Tookey, "Say Something" instantly resonated with audiences everywhere. Immediately after airing, the track climbed up the iTunes Top Singles Chart as listeners identified with its message. It went on to become one of the highest-selling songs this season and had the largest increase in sales of any song following placement on the show. This follows up a bevy of notable placements for the duo. Their song “This Is the New Year” gained new life in 2013 by being performed by the cast of Fox’s hit TV series Glee. “This Is the New Year” has been featured on One Tree Hill, The Amazing Race, ESPN, Good Morning America, The Rachael Ray ShowThe Today Show and the The O Music Awards.
A Great Big World began in the crowded practice rooms at NYU where Ian Axel and Chad Vaccarino were both studying music business while fostering dreams of writing and performing. Fast forward a few years, and in 2012 A Great Big World was born. Making positive, piano-driven pop bursting with harmonies the duo gained support through fans entirely on Kickstarter to fund their first EP which resulted in a recording contract with Epic Records.
The one question that matters for music fans this fall is Is There Anybody Out There?

Watain Announce North American Tour!

WATAIN announces North American headlining tour with IN SOLITUDE, TRIBULATION
With the release of their forthcoming full-length, The Wild Hunt, drawing near, Swedish black metallers WATAIN are now ready to announce their first North American tour in support of the album. Featuring IN SOLITUDE and TRIBULATION as support, this month-long headlining trek (aptly named “The Wild Hunt North America”) showcases some of Sweden’s finest metal from coast to coast. See below for all upcoming dates.
WATAIN comments: “Starting the first full tour for The Wild Hunt in North America seems quite appropriate, considering how many severe experiences and sleepless nights that country has bestowed upon us while riding through its strange wilderness… A thousand years and a thousand deaths have passed since we last visited the States, so prepare yourself to face something very, very old and very, very hungry. Deformed from both victory and defeat, distorted by a constant influx of powers residing beyond the borders of this world, we now return to join forces with our ever loyal US supporters. With us we will have two acts that has the capacity of transforming the audience into one big open wound before we go on stage, ready then to receive the lethal yet illuminating venom of Watain. ”

Due out August 20th in North America, The Wild Hunt is a sonic and lyrical tour-de-force that explores WATAIN's roots, such as BATHORY and DISSECTION, while also remaining truly unique. Having lost none of their integrity, WATAIN continues to push the boundaries of the scene with their fifth full-length, refusing to compromise their sound and vision. Amid the tracks teeming with the band's classic sound, The Wild Hunt also features clean vocals (a first for the trio!) which, as front-man Erik puts it, " just us being brutally personal and honest. It shows another important facet of the WATAIN world." As this new album will soon prove, WATAIN truly lives in a world all their own.

Havok to release new album!

HAVOK’s Unnatural Selection Set For Release

Candlelight Records confirms June 25 as the North American release date for Unnatural Selection, the new studio recording from Denver thrashers HAVOK. The ten-song album was produced by David Sanchez with mixing handled by Terry Date (Pantera, Overkill, Deftones). Unnatural Selection features original artwork from Polish illustrator Rafal Wechterowicz (Slayer, Mastodon) and was mastered by James Murphy (Aborted, World Under Blood, Abigail Williams).

“Give Me Liberty… Or Give Me Death,” the first single from Unnatural Selection, will hit Loud Rock/Metal radio on May 27. The topical song is a furious and urgent anthem that displays the band’s classic thrash and old school metal sound. Vocalist/guitarist David Sanchez ignites the fret board and barks the righteous lyrics while drummer Pete Webber punishes his immense kit. The song’s towering sound benefits from the unique acoustics of the old theater that was utilized as one of the many recording locations for the album. “I am super pumped on how the drums came out,” chimes Webber. “We recorded the drums in a theater to get a huge sound. It was a challenging experience for me between time constraints and the drum parts having much more feeling in them. I believe the added pressure made for some really awesome stuff. I can’t wait to unleash this album to the world.”

Unnatural Selection bears a far more mature collection of songs when compared to Burn (2009), and Time Is Up (2011). HAVOK has truly hit their mark with a sound that will please fans new and old. Additional album standouts include album opener “I Am The State,” “Chasing The Edge,” and the band’s rendition of the Black Sabbath classic “Children of the Grave.”

Unnatural Selection Track Listing:
1. I Am The State
2. Give Me Liberty… Or Give Me Death
3. It Is True
4. Under the Gun
5. Waste of Life
6. Untitled
7. Chasing the Edge
8. Worse Than War
9. Children of the Grave
10. Unnatural Selection

HAVOK will premiere material from Unnatural Selection tomorrow when they take the stage for the start of their European tour with Suffocation and Cephalic Carnage. The 28-city tour begins in Genève, Switzerland and will conclude in Munchen, Germany on June 8. Before departing for Europe, the band performed at a Denver Benefit. Sanchez comments, “We were honored to be part of HaneyStock. The show was a benefit for Chris Haney who was a bartender at the Gothic Theatre in our hometown who was senselessly murdered trying to break up a fight. All proceeds from the show are going to his young daughter. It was a great event that celebrated the life of an outstanding individual.”

HAVOK has planned three special record release performances. Tickets go on sale tomorrow at venue box offices and companion ticket agencies. A copy of Unnatural Selection will be included with ticket purchase to these area performances. HAVOK is planning a full North American tour for early summer. Details will be announced shortly. For a full list of dates on their European tour visit the band’s official Facebook page HERE.

6/21/2013 Marquis Theatre – Denver, CO
6/22/2013 Black Sheep – Colorado Springs, CO
6/23/2013 Aggie Theater – Ft. Collins, CO

HAVOK, called “the finest thrash band in existence” by PopDose, released their full-length debut, Burn, mid-2009. The record found an immediate fan base and the curiosity of media around the globe. Time Is Up would follow in 2011. “HAVOK have hit their stride,” said Decibel Magazine in review of the album. “HAVOK is everything that is great about thrash,” added Terrorizer. In 2012, the band released their EP Point of No Return; videos for the EPs two original songs were released earlier this year. To view “Point of No Return” click HERE. To view “From the Cradle to the Grave” click HERE. The videos have had over 200,000 views to date. Metal Underground says, “HAVOK kicks your ass from the moment you hit play, and doesn’t ever let up.”

HAVOK is guitarist/vocalist Dave Sanchez, bassist Mike Leon, guitarist Reece Scruggs, and drummer Pete Webber. The band uses/endorses ESP Guitars, Charvel Guitars, EMG Pickups, Ernie Ball, Peavy Amplification, Pearl Drums, Trick Drums, and Sabian Cymbals.

Andrew McMahon (of Something Corporate & Jack's Mannequin)

Jack’s Mannequin and Something Corporate Frontman to Release Debut EP in Spring 2013
Los Angeles, CA (January 22, 2013) – Andrew McMahon, former frontman and creator of both Jack’s Mannequin and Something Corporate,  has announced dates for his upcoming solo tour.  This will be his first tour under his own name, where he will perform live with his band comprised of 6 musicians in total including former band-mates Jay McMillan and Mike Wagner.  The tour is set to kick off Tuesday, March 12th in Tucson, AZ and will run through April 21st in Atlanta, GA.  McMahon is also set to tour with multi-Grammy nominated group fun. starting January 23rd in St. Paul, MN (dates below).  Fans can expect to hear McMahon perform songs from both Something Corporate and Jack’s Mannequin catalogues, as well as new material from his upcoming EP set for release in the spring of this year.  Tickets for the Andrew McMahon solo tour go on sale Friday, January 25th at 10am in most markets.  Tickets for Andrew’s tour with fun. are currently on sale.  For further tour information, please visit
“Really excited to get back on the road and try out some new music for the fans,” said McMahon.  “Playing songs from all aspects of my career is not something I've done before, so can't wait to start!”
Long time resident of southern California, Andrew McMahon is best known as lead vocalist, pianist and primary songwriter for bands Something Corporate and Jack’s Mannequin.  Andrew’s blend of vocal and songwriting skills combined with the incorporation of his piano playing, led punk-pop quintet Something Corporate to their first major record label singing under MCA Records, who released the band’s critically acclaimed album Leaving Through the Window in 2002.  Shortly thereafter, the band found success on the road with main stage gigs on the Warped Tour and tours overseas.  In the summer of 2004, Something Corporate decided to take a break, at which point McMahon found himself writing a batch of confessional piano-driven songs that explored his return home to Orange County and the dissolution of a long term relationship. With the help of several musician friends (which included producer Jim Wirt and Mötley Crüe’s Tommy Lee), McMahon began recording Everything in Transit under the moniker Jack’s Mannequin which released in August of 2005 under Warner Brothers’ Maverick Records.  McMahon went on to release another studio album with Jack's Mannequin titled The Glass Passenger, under which he toured with the likes of The Fray and Weezer.  People and Things was the final release from Jack’s Mannequin which was released in the fall of 2011 and charted at number 9 on the Billboard album charts.  The band played their two final sold out shows on November 11th and 12th 2012 at the El Rey Theater in Los Angeles.  In July 2006, McMahon founded a non-profit charity, entitled “The Dear Jack Foundation” to raise funds for cancer research. The organization is dedicated to raising money and awareness to aid in the fight against young adult cancer.  McMahon released a documentary titled "Dear Jack" in November of 2009 which chronicled his own battle with leukemia, his treatment and recovery.  For more on Andrew McMahon please visit:

Salvador Santana Live in Denver & Co Springs!

We are pleased to announce two shows with latin rock artist, Salvador Santana, son of legendary guitar player Carlos Santana, live at Marquis on March 8th and at Black Sheep on March 10th! Tickets for these epic shows go on sale this Friday, Dec. 21st! here.

Music is a burst of choices.

Not only what note to play when and with what instrument, but whether to play a note at all. Salvador Santana, the 28-year-old keyboardist, vocalist, composer, and songwriter with strong Bay Area roots, knows what it means to navigate the infinite options of music. His 2008 project with the Salvador Santana Band–simply called SSB–pursued the scope of his ability. But
for Santana, it wasn’t enough. He has no choice but to push himself further.

Collaboration has always been the centerpiece of his creations, and this passion manifested his solo debut “Keyboard City” (released 2/2 via Various Music/Quannum Projects) around the inspirations of a few legends: Bay Area MC/producer Del the Funky Homosapien who helped hone in Santana’s writing skills, Beastie Boy studio wizard Money Mark, and GZA of the Wu-Tang Clan.

The legendary founder of the Wu-Tang Clan rallied support around the album by featuring himself on a remix of the title track “Keyboard City” earlier this fall which was later remixed by none other than Dan Deacon. This spontaneous meeting of the minds demonstrated Sal’s magnetic ability to connect every kind of artist on any dynamic level.

Money Mark inspired Santana in a beautiful way during the creation process. “With all the people I’ve ever collaborated with or just working by myself, I have never produced so many ideas into songs as I have during these Money Mark sessions. That guy is just a machine,” said Santana. “He has mentored me by showing me that it’s cool to be all over the place. It’s cool to sit there and work on a song, then out of nowhere, interrupt that flow and work on another idea. To just go with it,” Santana elaborates.

Santana is pushed by a need to step out of his comfort zone in a quest for new ideas. Easy going and humble, Santana exudes the Bay Area vibe. He began playing the drums at age three–sitting on his father’s lap, controlling the snare and tom, as his father worked the hi-hat and kick drum–but his true love was discovered when he began taking piano lessons when he was six. Later, he studied at San Francisco’s heralded School of the Arts before attending Cal Arts in Valencia, CA. His education, passion and lineage have turned Santana into a monster on the keys.

Music truly thrives in his veins. His maternal grandfather was blues pioneer Saunders King and his paternal grandfather was the internationally celebrated violinist and mariachi bandleader Jose Santana. And, of course, his father is 10X Grammy-winning Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Carlos Santana…who’s also a frequent collaborator (Salvador co-wrote “El Farol” from 1999’s smash album Supernatural).

In addition to his musical desires, Santana has worldly efforts on his mind. After a trip to South Africa and inspiring work with Artists for a New South Africa (ANSA), something triggered inside of Santana to make sure his music wasn’t only about personal glory. Now that the record is out, Salvador will begin touring the project. He has already been posting various non-profit organizations on his website that will receive a percentage of the profits. “I want to use music in a positive way, and give back to people in need. There can never be enough people who do that.” And there can never be enough musicians pushing their art to the brink.

Attack! Attack! Announce Final Tour

Attack Attack have announce this is their final tour. They will play the Marquis Theater on Monday, May 6th. Tickets available at

A note from the band:

Well everyone, it's been a wild ride for Attack Attack, but I think it's about time Whiting and I take some time to write this note.

We want to start by thanking every single one of you that has ever come out to a show, bought a shirt, gotten in a fight over crabcore, or spent the time to send us notes online. We have been insanely blessed to be able to do what we have done with AA and we think it's time that we wrap up
this chapter in our lives.

Yes, this means exactly what you think it means. The Back in Action Tour will be Attack Attack's final and most ironic tour.

After 6 long years of playing in garages, VFW halls, clubs, open air festivals, and everything in-between. We've decided it is time to lay AA down for good.

You are all beautiful, wonderful people, and we want you to know that we deeply appreciate everything you have done for us.

We are sad to lay Attack Attack to rest, but are very excited for what is next in this new chapter of our lives.

Stay Tuned!!!

Much love,

The Andrews

JUST ANNOUNCED! Govinda w/ D.V.S* live at Marquis!

Electronic music composer, Govinda takes the stage live at the Marquis Theater on Saturday, December 8th w/ Brooklyn-based electronic musician D.V.S.* (Derek VanScoten). Tickets on sale via on Friday!

Govinda is the alter-ego of Austin based producer/composer Shane Madden. He began studying violin and composition at the age of eight and went on to study classical violin at the University of Texas where he fell in love with electronic music production. It was in Madden’s pursuit of his gypsy roots that he opened his ears to music from around the world. From experiences learning violin with mysterious masters on his journeys across the globe and his passion for modern design and technology, the current sound of Govinda was born.

Govinda has played with Thievery Corporation, Tipper, Bassnectar, Shpongle, Cheb I Sabbah, STS9 and many more and been featured on over 25 compilations such as Buddha Bar II, Asian Travels II, and Nirvana Lounge selling a combined 400,000 copies. Govinda has played at numerous festivals throughout North America including Coachella, Lightning in a Bottle, Sea of Dreams, SXSW and more. Govinda’s music has been licensed on shows like “Roswell” WB, “Road Rules” MTV, and “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” Bravo as well as many independent films.

The Govinda live show is truly a multi-sensory experience that features professional dancers, live projections, resonating vocals and a sonical sound-scape. His live experience is full of vibrant energy that plays to its crowd. Govinda performs on Ableton Live accompanied by classical violin. Govinda is currently touring in support of his album “Universal On Switch” which was released independently earlier this year.
