The A-Ok's
The A-OKs are celebrating five years of pummeling the Denver music scene with their mayhem-fueled, ska/punk madness. After two full length albums and countless chaotic live performances, the band only grows stronger and hungers for more. Influenced by the horn driven third-wave ska bands of the late 90s, The A-OKs add a dash of modern punk, alternative, metal, reggae, and even a little pop to their mix for a sound that makes you want to throw an elbow or two before dancing the night away. They have conquered three west coast tours, several outings to the midwest, and are celebrated across the country and recognized worldwide. Five years strong, The A-OKs shows no signs of stopping and have more than a few tricks up their sleeves.

12 Cents for Marvin
12 Cents for MarvinNo stage can contain the energy of 12 Cents for Marvin and audiences would have it no other way. Formed in their college days nearly a decade ago, the band has grown as individuals and musicians. Ska/reggae/rock is a quick but incomplete way to describe the 12 Cents sound. It must be experienced to be understood.

The band named itself after meeting Marvin, a colorful street character panhandling
and following a mathematical formula requiring him to receive twelve cents per person he met.

Since then, 12 Cents has been voted Best Band in the region multiple years in a row. Recognition continued when the band garnered first place in Colorado's Scene Magazine's Battle of the Bands. Gaining this recognition early in the band's career laid a solid foundation for the independent nature of all present and future endeavors. This is exemplified by radio play for multiple 12 Cents' songs along the Colorado Front Range by both independent and corporate radio stations.

While on stage, energetic antics rule. This never overshadows the artistry, dedication, and years of hard work put in by the talented members. The band includes Tom Werge on vocals and trumpet, Hilary Freeman on bass, Nik Levinsky on guitar, Soren Daugaard on drums, Greta Cornett on trumpet, John Giordanengo on trombone, Phuong Nguyen on saxophone, and Sean Jaster on keys. The sum is greater than the parts and this synergistic effect adds a distinct edge to the 12 Cents for Marvin sound.

In addition to stimulating audiences with its performances, 12 Cents for Marvin has produced several albums. Yellow Raincoat (1998), King of the Ring (2000), The EP (2002) and Change (2006) all showcase a full horn section with a swinging embellishment of indelible rhythms. These albums have spawned such favorites as "King of the Ring (The WWF Song)," "Social Suicide" (featuring Warsaw Poland Brothers), "One By One" and "Shouting in the Dark." In addition, 12 Cents can be found on such compilations as "Still Standing" (2003, Megalith Records) and "Fort Collins Rocks, Vol. 3" (2005, Hapi-Skratch Records).

12 Cents for Marvin continues producing their original music while touring in an ever-widening circuit. Traveling around the region, the band has played with acts such as The Skatalites, The English Beat, Michael Rose (of Black Uhuru), Stroke 9, Less than Jake, The Toasters, War, Guster, The Sugar Hill Gang, MU330, Mustard Plug, The Specials, The Slackers, and Fishbone. Keeping the beat on high, 12 Cents for Marvin has set itself apart as a driving force in the regional music scene. Every concert goes and asks the band, "When are you coming back?"

- Rainless Records

My name is Ryan Longenecker, founder of Rainless Records and an independent musician. I wanted to start a community-based record label designed around creating a support system for independent artists. This campaign will provide the necessary funding to create a compilation album with all the artists currently helping Rainless Records get off the ground.

By supporting this campaign you are supporting the start of a different type of record label designed completely around the artists instead of profits.

THE REPERCUSSIONS:
The Repercussions were formed the summer of 1999 in the greater Washington DC metropolitan area. Their sound was crafted carefully over the years by reflecting their environment. Washington DC is a fast paced, bellicose city and consequently so are The Repercussions. Heavily influenced by the DC hardcore sound and bred into a polluted reggae tone, its tough to keep you’re feet still while the band wails and upstrokes its way into that soft spot you have in your heart for music that just makes you wanna’ smash the status quo. After relocating to Denver in 2007, the band immediately went to work making new connections, writing new songs and picked up a new local bass player. Revisiting their influences and adding a sense of urgent direction and finesse, Denver provided the band a breath of new life and inspiration. Don’t get it twisted though, this band isn’t here to preach a bizarre political agenda, rather to point out and frame the position our society has created for its self over the years and therefore essentially mock the existing condition of our consumer driven American culture.
